Youghal

A walled Norman port at the mouth of the Blackwater. Walter Raleigh was its mayor and lived at Myrtle Grove; the story that he planted Ireland's first potatoes here is a good one that historians cannot verify. Moby Dick was filmed in the harbour in 1954.

• Kindred Spirits, Midleton · Nine great steel feathers in a circle, honouring the Choctaw Nation's $170 gift to Ireland in 1847 — sent sixteen years after their own Trail of Tears.
