Every holy well in the State's Sites and Monuments Record, 3,032 of them, county by county, with its townland, its name where the record gives one, and its dedication. Each links to its entry in the official survey.
Of the 799 wells with a recorded dedication:
In the open record used here, Our Lady (205 wells), followed by Brigid (155) and Patrick (58). Only wells whose dedication is recorded are counted, so the true numbers are higher.
The National Monuments Service's Sites and Monuments Record lists 3,032 holy wells in the Republic. Northern Ireland keeps its own record, which lists 172.
This is every holy well on Wikidata with a location on the island, most of them added from the National Monuments Service's Sites and Monuments Record (the SMR number shown). Coverage is uneven: some counties have been catalogued well on Wikidata and others hardly at all, so a short list means the open record is thin, not that the county has few wells. The official survey, with every recorded monument, is the Historic Environment Viewer at archaeology.ie ↗.
