Short version: no accounts, no ads, no selling of data. Here is everything this site does.

Analytics

• Rybbit (self-hosted) — counts visits and popular pages without cookies and without storing personal profiles. It runs regardless of the cookie banner because it doesn't use cookies or track you across sites.
• Google Analytics 4 — loads only if you press Accept on the cookie banner. It sets cookies to distinguish returning visitors and helps us understand how people use the atlas. If you decline (or ignore the banner), it never loads. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser — the banner will ask again.

The corrections form

If you send a correction, we receive only what you type. Name and email are optional; if given, we use them solely to credit you or reply about your submission. Nothing is stored beyond that purpose.

Local preferences

Your language choice (English/Gaeilge) and cookie decision are stored in your own browser's local storage. They never leave your device.
